# Separate parts

`family-exploded-study.png` is a rendered concept study. It is one flat image.
It is not a layered file or a 3D model. The pieces show a proposed split.

The three folders contain separate transparent SVG files from the preserved
vector draft. Every file uses the same 240 by 240 canvas and coordinate space.
They contain their own gradients. They have no animation or network links.
Use `joints.json` for pivots and front-view layer order.

The old vector shape differs from the proposed soft 3D design. These parts can
support joint and timing experiments. They cannot reproduce the new sheets.
Arms still include hands. Legs are paired. Headwear is part of the head.
The old torso can contain pack or rope shapes. A final rig must split these.

Run `python3 parts/build-studies.py` from the edition folder to rebuild the draft
parts and motion SVGs. The script reads starting SVGs without changing them.

## Next production split

Use named left and right upper arms, forearms, hands, thighs, lower legs, and
feet. Add a neck, chest, pelvis, lids, brows, and replaceable mouth shapes.
Separate face, headwear, goggle frame, lens, and strap. Give cape, pack, rope,
journal, pencil, and pole their own controls. Add hidden surfaces behind joints.
Draw or model the back from the approved turnaround. Test contacts before loops.

The concept plates show some alternate goggle positions and equipment. Use the
character sheet and the design notes to choose final positions before modeling.
Do not treat a generated parts plate as an exact assembly guide.
