# Soft precision / chart-derived language

Source: user-selected Mineral Light / 03, its derived Graphite / 03,
Menlo type, and Compact toolbar. These decisions belong to the chart.
The sidebar is the first application of these rules to another component.
Its layout is still a study. No full application theme has been selected.

- Use Menlo for working labels and values. Use tabular numbers.
- Keep controls compact, with clear text and an active state.
- Place faint lilac, blue, and cream color around light content surfaces.
- Use graphite surfaces with brighter blue and violet accents in dark mode.
- Use 20 px frame, 13 px surface, and 9 px control radii.
- Use 8, 16, and 24 px spacing steps.
- Use fine borders and shallow shadows to separate surfaces.
- Keep gradients concentrated in the frame and small accents.
- Make the current item clear through shape and text as well as color.

`tokens.css` is opt-in through `.sherpa-language` and `data-theme`.
It does not restyle the artbook, existing charts, or other components.
Font stacks use local files and fallbacks. Menlo availability varies by device.
