# Sherpa artbook

Open [index.html](index.html) in a browser. The guide groups the collection into
Brand Logo, Themes, Characters, and Application Mocks. World and routes live
under Themes. Motion and construction live under Characters.
Application Mocks has a Component studies guide. Chart, sidebar, chat and artifact,
source cards, and study timeline each have a page with options and iterations.

The review pages need no build, login, or package install. Keep the whole folder
together so local image and page links resolve. Earlier editions, references,
generation prompts, and notes remain in the repository. No app functionality
is included.

Build the visual world before the application features.

Sherpa is a family of friendly guides. The mountain is a metaphor for progress. Their routes can cross rock, forests, deserts, coasts, the Andes, and snow.

Keep Summit and Ridge. Terra takes inspiration from a modern trekking route to Machu Picchu in Peru. All current designs are draft studies. The flat SVG style is not a final art direction. Use the original 3D character to study the proportions, soft forms, textures, goggles, and warmth.

## Files

- `references/original-sherpa.jpg`: the user's supplied image. It includes phone controls and the Sherpa wordmark.
- `references/original-sherpa-cutout.png`: the earlier transparent cutout.
- `references/harness-guide-library.png`: the seven draft guides in the harness.
- `characters/`: Summit, Ridge, Fern, Snow, Terra, Dune, and Cove. Each folder has a character record and six transparent SVG exports.
- `catalog.json`: shared names, terrains, appearance choices, and motion states.
- `manifest.json`: source revision and exported file list.
- `source/`: snapshots of the existing vector rig, animation CSS, companion renderer, and catalog. These files are reference source, not a complete application.
- `START-HERE.md`: the prompt for a new conversation.

Each SVG contains its own gradients and animation CSS. It can run without React or Pi Durable. The motion is fixed to that file's state. Small chat avatars and application UI are not included in the character exports.

The supplied art is a visual reference. The new family can change in style, clothing, and detail. Keep a clear family resemblance. Keep character appearance separate from the future agent's name, instructions, and financial tools.

## Source and export

The source is frontend commit `fbdc8415bb9c5cf03ee535a48d754e7748ad054d` from the isolated personal harness worktree. The application source was not changed for this export. This folder is the standalone private `sherpa-artbook` repository.

To export the current rig again, use the existing harness dependencies:

```sh
node tools/export-guides.mjs /Users/agent/Documents/sherpa/.worktrees/frontend-pi-durable-personal-harness/harness
```

This command replaces the generated character SVGs, metadata, source snapshots, catalog, and manifest. Keep new artwork in separate folders. For exports from a new source revision, update the source revision recorded by the export script.

## GitHub Pages

The artbook is static and uses relative links. `.nojekyll` lets GitHub Pages
serve the files without Jekyll processing. Use `main` and the repository root
as the publishing source when Pages is available.

On October 9, 2026, GitHub rejected Pages setup because the current account plan
does not support Pages for this private repository. The repository remains private.
No Pages site is enabled. A supported plan can publish from a private repository;
the resulting Pages site is normally public.
